Miss Tina Knowles designs for Wal-Mart

It is official, Ms. Tina Knowles, AKA Beyonce’s mother, has launched a line for Wal-Mart entitled "Miss Tina Collection". The line is scheduled to hit stores October 2 in selected areas. She states this line is “for every woman of all shapes and sizes and styles.” Her sizes ranging from 0-20, but from her interview with Essence.com. During her interview, she was asked “How does she manage to design for all women”, her reply “it’s the stretchy fabric and draping”. No offense Miss Tina, but all women can not wear stretchy material.

I was curious of the implementation of the "Miss Tina collection" would look with its sister line continuing to increase in sales and exemplify style at the "House of Dereon", even though there is a huge difference in price. The question that many are asking, which will suffer the style or the price?

On www.walmart.com, the Miss Tina line was “NOT HOT”. There are only 34 items available to view, velour tops and bottoms ($15.00), jersey pants ($12.00), and animal print dresses ($15.00). These items do not scream Miss Tina, jersey material it is cheap and it does not fit everyone. In some promotion pictures online from other websites, she has shown some eye catching samples, but I have not seen them in the actual stores or online. I am being optimistic and hopeful, that towards the end of the month. Miss Tina will hit D.C., Maryland and Virginia Wal-Mart Stores with an iron fist of sophistication. This collection will be a huge hit for Wal-Mart's revenue.

Ms. Knowles is currently making her rounds marketing her new lines on various television programs. She is definitely coming out of the background with this new endeavor.
